Piano Lessons

Piano Lessons at Reisinger Conservatory of Music, Lakeville, MN

At Reisinger Conservatory of Music learning to play the piano sets our students up for a lifetime of enjoyment of music. Our instruction, cultivated over 45 years of teaching, uses the most advanced curriculum for the best results. Our program to enhance the enjoyment of learning includes the following:

One-on-One Piano Instruction

The most effective learning occurs with individual attention. Lesson lengths offered are thirty, forty-five and sixty minutes. Pre-professional students may need to take longer lessons length. All piano students learn Theory, Ear-Training & Sight Reading

It is important to learn music theory as it is the backbone of music. Learning theory enhances the students’ understanding of their music and its creation. Understanding music theory can help students gain a deep appreciation of music. It is critical that students learn to play by ear as well as learning how to play at sight. When the student is ready, the teacher will incorporate this part into the lessons. Sight-reading is a vital part of making music. Strong sight-reading skills make learning new pieces faster and more efficient.

Music Appreciation

All lessons will include music appreciation.

Workshop/Recitals

We offer recitals and/or public performances. We also provide additional public performance opportunities for students as well as judged events on a state and national level. A more formal annual recital takes place at the end of each school year.

Beginner Piano Lessons

Students of any age may enroll in our beginner piano program. Lessons start by introducing the parts of your instrument and the basics of how you produce sound. Depending on your musical goals, you will learn the basics of how to read music and develop a keen sense of rhythm and musicality. Beginning with the very first lesson, students will be playing songs from their books! We aim to instill in all our music students an appreciation for their instrument.

Intermediate and Advanced Piano Lessons

Pick up where you left off, whether you have limited knowledge of piano or years under your belt, our piano instructor can evaluate your skill and help you improve your performance. Not only will you be able to play more complicated music, but you will focus on improving your tone, clarity, rhythm, technique, and performance skills. You will become a critical listener of style (i.e., jazz, rock, and blues). Once you have enough knowledge of your instrument, we will introduce improvisation and playing as a soloist.
