PARENTS AND CHILDREN IN PERFECT HARMONY-PIANO LESSONS

Learning to play an instrument efficiently,  is one of our nations most sought after talents. Many parents sign their children up for music lessons not really understanding what they are jumping into. The benefits of a solid music education has been proven time and time again through many various forms of study. Studies have shown greater brain development, spatial intelligence, strengthened creativity, higher SAT scores etc. The list goes on and on.

What many parent’s don’t think about is how much the child will benefit if the parent also takes lessons. By signing up for lessons with your child, you are also improving yourself in the previously mentioned areas.

If you and your children study music together, you are building a lifelong bond that will never be broken. You are also teaching them how to maintain, develop and perfect their music through your discipline and examples. Studies show that children who study music with their siblings or parents become much more focused and will remain in lessons longer than those who study alone.

Another benefit of studying with your children is that often families will share their talents together and make music at home for family events. Imagine the Holidays and all the family playing music together-what a wonderful memory that would be!
